Nes Wordz - Black Odysseus: An Elegy

Ohio State professor Gregory Jusdanis recalls meeting Columbus rapper and middle-school teacher Nes Wordz (Sheron Colbert) in July 2016 and having him perform a rap retelling of the Odyssey's Polyphemus episode for his classics class in October 2016. The essay notes that Nes performed at ComFest in June 2017, suffered a cerebral hemorrhage that night and died days later, leaving the planned "Black Odyssey" project unfinished.
